New York Barber Chairs - Justin Tuck - according to his new kids book

ALAN LIPMAN OF MR. BEAUTY

What does Alan Lipman have in common with Justin Tuck other than barber chairs? Alan, who is the GM for Mr. Beauty (a beauty equipment supplier that supplies barber chairs) sat on the Lights Camera Read panel for the New York Public Library in its first year.

Also, Lights Camera Read and the Platinum Pias are now in their third year and Alan and Mr. Beauty won a Platinum Pia at the last show. The Platinum Pias are the Oscars of businesses, career and education and Mr. Beauty won one for "Best New Publication".

Barber chairs have long been the place where people sit when the Barber does his or her work. Justin Tuck, of the New York Giants, probably wishes he had been sitting in a barber chair when he had his hair cut on a certain occasion as a child.

Instead he agreed to let his five sisters cut his hair instead? Curious to see the results? Be sure to pick up his book for children entitled "Home Field Advantage" that has illustrations according to Tuck that were made from pictures of his actual haircut.

Tuck, who is an advocate of the community and for reading, sat down with Lights Camera Read recently to discuss his new book as well as to offer word of encouragement to the budding authors that are participating in this year's Lights Camera Read Teen Central contest. Teens from all over the city and boroughs are hoping to win the coveted Lights Camera Read Teen Central Platinum Pias Award.
